SOCIETY REQUIREMENTS

SAFETY

Safety is paramount to the spirit, well-being and enjoyment of our members at any shooting venue. All members are expected to abide by the Rules and Regulations of clubs or other facilities hosting scheduled venues, or are otherwise guests at said club or facility.

Guidelines to observe:
(1) Never load a firearm before entering the shooting station
(2) Never point a firearm, whether loaded or unloaded, at anyone
(3) Keep firearms pointed in a safe direction at all times
(4) Do not fire when a person or animal (not being hunted during live bird shoots) is evident in the line of fire
(5) Consumption of alcoholic beverages prior to or during the shooting portion of any venue is strictly prohibited. Members and shooting guests are welcome to bring their own libations for consumption following the shooting portion of the venue.
(6) Each member is individually responsible to courteously point out safety infractions observed at the time of occurrence to insure the safety of all members present.

MANNERS
Members and their guests are expected to act in a courteous manner towards one another as well as towards the staff and members of clubs and/or facilities at which we are guests. Members who, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, act discourteously on a regular basis may be reprimanded, suspended or dismissed at the discretion of the Board with two-thirds majority affirmative vote.

FIREARMS REQUIREMENTS
Members and their guests are expected to use only safe side-by-side cartridge shotguns at all Grouse Hall venues. If a guest does not have an appropriate firearm, a member can contact an Officer or member of the Board of Directors so that arrangements for a borrowed firearm can be made prior to the shoot. Alternatively, the guest may use another type of safe shotgun, for that shoot only. The determination of the safety of the firearm in use is the sole responsibility of the owner and/or shooter of said firearm.

DRESS CODE
Members are required to wear period clothing (circa 1880-1914) to all shoots, unless otherwise stated on the invitation to the shoot. Male members are required to wear jacket and tie at all shoots, associated functions and dinners. When weather conditions make the aforementioned dress standard impractical or unsafe, the Master of the Hunt or Shoot Manager may suspend such requirements.

See EDWARDIAN DRESS AND SHOOTING PARTIES screen for helpful information.

INDIVIDUAL TROPHIES, PRIZES, INCENTIVES
Grouse Hall is a non-competitive organization and, in the spirit of Grouse Hall, no single prize or incentive at Grouse Hall sponsored venues shall be excessive, as determined by the Board of Directors.
